Use glass wine or beer bottles for rooting plants before you transfer them outdoors. The small neck helps the plant from falling into the water.

Thanks Becky, now when I look at some nice bottles with narrow necks I put them aside for rooting plants. Another addition to my treasure trove. Hilarious!

What's the secret to rooting? Only thing I can get to root is coleus....

Hi there Toni Green Grin!

Impatience is the only thing I've ever rooted in water. I think some house plants root well too.

Hopefully someone will come along that does this.

I love rooting. It's like an addition for me Toni and Vic. I cut the stem at a diagonal and stick it in water. I try to root everything. And if it doesn't root, at least I tried.
Today I was at Goodwill and found 5 new colored rooting bottles. 1 red, 3 blue and one dark green. I l love the colored ones.

I am rooting coleus, philodendron, spider plants, wandering jew and arrowhead right now.
