I have planted approximately 200 garlic cloves in pots and in the raised garden. There are 12 varieties of these gourmet garlics and each bulb will be approximately 1/4 lb. I still have lettuce (3 varieties) and onion (2 varieties) in 6" pots. I will plant some and some will go in a greenhouse. Two celery plants are in the raised garden. There are 3 lettuce plants of each of the 3 varieties planted within a plastic mesh cage. The cage not only keeps critters out but also gives me a frame that I can drape with a blanket when it gets really cold. We will have lettuce and celery well into winter. The garlic and onions will be pulled in May. I grow the gourmet garlic to sell (and of course to cook with) and grow everything else for our dinner table.

Hilarious! I would swear that is a green bunny inside the cage. The farthest lettuce on the right.

You have a great eye. There is a green bunny inside the mesh! Way to go. Ken

P. S. We will probably eat the bunny's ears this week.

I grew garlic in Earthboxes last year for the first time--previously I've only grown in-ground. The earthboxes did great. Harvested about 25 cloves from each box, so was very happy. Going for round 2 this year.

Love the plastic mesh cage for keeping critters out. I did find a chipmunk burrow or two in my garlic boxes. Sigh.....
