I was given a couple plants, they have soft & fuzzy leaves. The person who gave it to me had them planted in full sun and they had a stalk that grew out of the middle with a blue flower (i think it was blue)

It looks like either Stachys byzantina or Lychnis coronaria, you should recognise the flowers.

Hmm, funny. I vote for Lychnis.
But the flower stalk description doesn't really fit.

I'm leaning towards Lychnis too, mainly due to the leaf shape but Stachys byzantina is variable according to which cultivar it is. jojoe isn't sure about the flower, maybe as it's a new plant she hasn't yet seen the flowers?

when she gave me the plants, i seen some others but her bed was a mess and i seen a stalk with a flower on top.I thought it was coming from one of these plants but it was REALLY HARD TO TELL between the weeds and bushes and ground covering plants etc... so Janet your right that flower could have been coming out of another plant and just grew side ways and then went up next to one of these when it reached a place that it could feel the sun.

I looked at the links and I'm in agreement with yall.I think as with most of my plants, next growing season will tell. Group hug
