Wow, you know, I'd ordered impatiens plugs from him some years ago when I lost mine--I was very happy, too, but forgot about his store. They're tiny but take no time to grow to size--thank you! He has no fuchsias listed right now, but I'll email to ask whether they'll be available in spring.

To Taqiyyah:
You are going to have to keep checking. He puts up new listings each night. I bought my newest plugs last week. Here is a pic of the newly planted Dollar Princess plugs from last year (2/2014). Good Luck - Margie

Yes, he said as much when I asked. I will keep checking. When does he ship them if you order them now?

He held off shipping my items because of all the snow/ice storms we have had here. He may ship them this coming Monday. Margie

I've been back and forth to Earthworks and ebay, and I still want to hear more about these--I used to see them in stores all the time when I was little and always thought they as fantasy flowers, the big puffy ones are so girly. But by the time I started gardening over the last five years or so I'd forgotten about them because I hadn't seen them in so long. From what I've searched out they've remained popular on the West Coast. At least, the nurseries that sell them seem to all be over there, I suppose because they're all hardy in CA.

How do you make a big pretty basket (maybe 10"-12")? Is it one plant or more than one? What kind of food?

I plant all of mine in the ground, but I think three or four plants in a 12-inch hanging basket would look fantastic in a fairly short time. The best trailing varieties for hanging baskets won't be hardy in your zone, so you'll want them to put on the best possible display the first year. I think the fancy hanging fuchsia baskets for sale in nurseries have three or four plants in them. As for food, I don't know. I never use it. One of my neighbors uses Osmocote pellets in her containers and they always look great.

Hello All. I'm back. Did you miss me? I've had a lot of problems. My Wife has been very ill. Her problems have increased, and it's been new drugs to get things under control. Then My old ticker played up, so it was a spell in hospital for me. Finally my computer blew up. Anyway hopefully back in circulation. Will send some details and photo's of my new varieties soon.

John. (from a cold old England). Hurray! Hurray! I tip my hat to you.

This is one of the new varieties I have bred for release soon. It is called "Kims Kisses". Named after one of my daughter in laws.

Hi, John. It's good to see you back here. I hope you and your wife are feeling a lot better.

I always prune my fuchsias on Lincoln's birthday, but I didn't do all of them this year because the species fuchsias are already in bloom and I didn't have the heart to cut off the blooming twigs.

To Taqiyyah and all others interested in purchasing fuchsia's. I bought my plants from a seller on ebay named sohappy64. Just want to tell you this seller has them once again. I bought from this seller last Spring, overwintered them and they are beautiful.
