Does this DL increase fast/rapidly? I saw it offered on the LA for $15 for 2 fans. Since it's a 2011 DL, it makes me curious if it does. I'm not wanting it if it does.

Thanks for any info/help!

I would say it increases moderately. The person who is offering it has probably had it a couple of years before it was actually introduced since he is friends with the hybridizer.

Thanks Michele! I tip my hat to you. Hurray! Thumbs up

I saw all your beautiful pics on the db for this one, but I see you don't have it offered.

I do see a lot of dl's being offered by a lot of different sellers for dl's that are recently new/introduced that aren't too expensive. I was kind of wondering about that also. Guess as long as they keep 2 fans for themselves and have great soil, they are able to sell increases.

Thanks again for all your knowledge and help! I even added you as one of my favorite sellers!

Michele & Teresa,

I went ahead and bought 2 fans (one order) of Buddys String Bean. Earlier tonight, I bought 2 fans (one order) of Richard William Haynes. Hurray!

I think this is the worse year for selling daylilies on the lily auction that I have seen in the dozen or more years that I have been on the auction. I have not put very many on myself this year, but have watched some of the bigger sellers and there seems to be very few bids if they list them for a decent price.

I also grow BUDDYS STRING BEAN and it does well here.

Fred, my opinion of the auction right now is that seeds are going for a lot more than in previous years. My guess is that the difficult summer decreased seed harvest, hence inceasing the seed prices. I feel like I am paying twice as much for the seeds I have bid on.

I am not ready to purchase plants yet, (haven't a clue where I am planting the ones I am already ordering for 2013 from the hybridizers! Whistling So I haven't been watching those prices as closely.

Perhaps I should Big Grin

I usually list about a dozen seed auctions twice a week and this is the first year that I had not one bid on 12 auctions listed. Never saw that happen before. I think a lot of people are still hurting financially.

Marilyn, I don't think I actually own that one; I took photos of James Hall's. I also didn't divide any of the UFs/Spiders this year. I may once we start replanting the hybridizing area this month. I had heard that sometimes the UFs/Spiders set pods easier if you let them clump up and not bother them, don't know how true that is though., so I figured I'd leave them alone this year; not that we need anymore seeds to plant next year.

Fred,

Good to know. BSB is a gorgeous dl! Looking forward to it arriving next yr and seeing it in bloom!

Michele,

I'm not going to do any hybridizing. I did one yr in 2000 and with having MS (Multiple Sclerosis) I get too hot and it's unbearable for me during the Summer, so I didn't do any more hyb. and get settled into it after 2000. Thumbs up

I think the bids on the LA for the most part are low. I have picked up a few that I wouldn't dreamed to win.
