Are there proper terms for flowering along a stem and flowering at the end of the stem? For example, most double petunias only have one bloom at the end of the stem, but an Easy Wave petunia will have several blooms along the stem.

Zuzu & Evan,

I'm not familiar with the terms in Flower Form on the data sheet. Are petunias and calibrachoa "Single"? Many of them have blooms along the stem. Please advise.

Not sure but this may help....

This article refers to the inflorescence, flower cluster or arrangement of flowers, in petunia as being a cyme

http://jxb.oxfordjournals.org/...

The area under Flower Form in the petunia database appears to show check boxes for inflorescence types rather than flower form. Flower form is above as bloom form - single or double.

I do not know anything about petunias so if this is incorrect, sorry, just trying to help Smiling Shrug!

Thanks again Char. I found some good resource info and have determined that petunias are correctly identified with the "Cyme" inflorescence choice
