I visited his annual open house last week. I spent a fantastic two hours in his rose gardens, He is a fine person with great rose plants for sale. I will post in the cubit for his next open house. I also purchased his book The Right Rose in the Right Place, an excellent book .

You sure did, Gary, but now we're all in this new and happier place together. I really admire Peter Schneider, especially the work he does on the Combined Rose List every year.

Nery, I'm so sorry. I never answered your question. Yes, I've bought the Combined Rose List a couple of times, but it's very frustrating because every rose I want is listed as no longer available anywhere but in Bangladesh or some other place that refuses to export roses.

Hi fellow rosarians. I just got one of Gary's books and I was wondering If his garden is located in northern Ohio or southern Ohio? I am located in mid-Michigan.

Studioeast, do you mean Peter Schneider's garden? He lives in Mantua, OH, which is not far from Cleveland. So it's definitely northern OH, but I'm thinking the climate might be somewhat moderated by the lake? It's in USDA hardiness zone 6a.

EDIT: this is his mailing address. Evidently it's not where his garden is, according to Vaporvac. Sorry!

I've been prior, but not this year due to Covid. : (( He's in Ravenna near Wooster in a Z5 area of Ohio, unlike Cleveland which gets a lake effect. I ordered roses last year planning to pick them up, but will just have sent I guess. I have pics from prior if anyone is interested in them. Good for you Gary. Did you buy any roses?

Gary hasn't posted here for 10 years, Vaporvac. This thread dates back to Cubits. I'm not sure Gary came over to ATP/NGA from Cubits with the rest of us in 2011.

! Silly me! LOL! I didn't know what cubits was. I just saw people posting from today so glance at the comments above and thought oh great. I was so sad not to make it to his opening this year though. But I'm still looking forward to my plants. Did you order any this year, ZuZu?

Cubits was great. That's where Sue and I started our rose database, with a lot of help from Valleylynn, who's now NGA's Sempervivum mod.

No, I haven't ordered anything from Freedom Gardens since the first order two years ago.

I hope to see pics this year with more of your Jerabek roses. Peggy M is doing well for me having just been planted last fall and I'm still waiting for Paul Jerabek. I think those are the only two I have thus far. Peggy M is sort of wonky at the moment so I can't really judge her bush habit. She's doing well with BS in a very tough Spring so that's in her favor. Of course, her flowers are charming shade-shifters.

Here Peggy Martin forms a very large mounding shrub and climbs into nearby trees. Give her room!

Small wonder, Porkpal. I'm appalled by all of the abbreviations we're suddenly seeing.

I know. That's why I usually say Jerabek's Peggy M. Porpal, I have Peggy Martin and even here she gets large, but is remarkably healthy in a less than perfect slightly shady condition. Of course, she might bloom more frequently with more sun.
