I used to have eight or ten Holiday Cactus but I lost all but 2 to cold the past couple of winter's. I still have one large plant that is doing well and one little one that looks really pitiful; it's been hanging in a tree and something has eaten almost the entire plant. Mine don't usually bloom this early but I should move them inside and watch for buds!

It is so nice to see so much interest in these plants. I have been selling starter plants of Holiday Cactus for years and this year the interest has definitely picked up. I have some really good buys and some very nice plants if any of you are interested. If you are, and decide to buy, if you tell me you saw this on ATP or you buy in my Cubits store I will give you a discount. http://cubits.org/JBsPlants/st... is m store link and JBsPlants@RoblynFarm is my Cubits. The prices here are cheaper than on eBay. Thumb of 2012-11-19/JB/32edbf

The supply is dwindling and it is getting almost too cold to ship, but depending on where you live, I ship until it is just too cold here.

Speaking of Salmon, this is one of my oldest and favorite salmons. It is very old and rather scraggly becasue I use it for a stock plant constantly. But, it booms and blooms for months starting in October.

Another old one I have which is the plain old fuchsia which so many people have and enjoy at this time of year.
This plant loves bright sunlight but only from a distance, never on the plant itself; As you can see the bright light behind it just makes it bloom for months.

Cliff, they are just beautiful colors. Don't you love the "Dancers" ????I only have Polka Dancer but it is a bloomer and a beauty; I would love to have the space to collect all of them, but I am totally out of space at this time. LOL
This is the Polka Dancer.

Excuse my ignorance but why do the blooms have a fine silky kind of appearance, as if they are artificial.

Masud, that is a great question, but unfortunately I am unable to answer it. I never thought about it. That is just the way the plants were propagated I guess; Maybe someone else is smarter than either of us and can answer your question. Confused
