I always gather up most of the garden art over the winter. So a few weeks ago our 9yr old GS was here for the weekend. I sent him out on a scavenger hunt thru the gardens to find all my things. He had a good time finding and bringing them to the garage. I gave him hints for some of the ones that he missed. There are a few too heavy for him to bring in but I got most of my stuff packed away pretty quick and we both had a good time doing it.

That's a great idea! I'll try that with my 7 yr old GS.

He missed two glass balls that float in one of my ponds and a humming bird feeder. So I sent him back and told him that. He missed 3 things two of them were red and one was blue. Also that none of them were on the ground. It was fun for both of us and kept him outside while I was working.

I go back and forth between bringing yard art in or leaving it out. We don't often get much snow and I like the looks of some statuary among the winter foliage. On the other hand, if I bring it in and clean/repair them all, chances are I will put them in new places the following season.

I agree that the yard art does add great interest to the winter garden. In our area the freeze thaw is very hard on some types of materials, so I tend to bring most of it inside.
