Shock Waves, Easy Waves, Tidal Waves and Waves have been entered in the data base. Please let me know if I have missed a variety. If you have photos of any, please upload. Photos of seedlings, buds, blooms or plants are needed

Thanks so much, Joanne. I'm sure it took a lot of time.

Question: Is there a way to search by "daylight neutral"? I can't seem to find it. I tried adding "daylight neutral" under flower time > other > "daylight neutral". I got no results. Am I doing something wrong? I tried keeping other options vague...

Never mind. I just repeated the search and it worked fine. Not sure what stupid thing I did first, but must have checked something else too. Shrug!

That's a great resource. Smiling

I'm glad that type of search worked. I put the Madness, Sophistica, Debonair, Dreams and Daddy's in too. For the common name, I'm grouping them similar to many seed/grower catalogue groups. Graniflora being the largest flower size (Dreams, Daddy, Sophistica etc.) and Floribunda for Madness, Multiflora Spreading/Trailing for Easy Waves, Milliflora Spreading/Trailing for Shock Waves. So when we enter Picobella, it will be Milliflora, but not Spreading/Trailing, just simply Milliflora since it is upright 10" x 10". What do you guys think of that way of grouping them? All the Vegetative ones like Potunias, will have "Cuttings" being the primary propagation choice.

Note: There are two new "near Black" petunias from seed for 2013: Sophistica Blackberry and Debonair Black Cherry. Both are upright and have big flowers.

Ball Hort has new petunia series in their catalogue including the Burpee Home Gardens. The issue is that these are not "new" varieties, but rather they created a new series with other petunias. For Example, they have a series called Poprocks, which are really Shock Waves.

If you want to enter petunias, check the Plant Database forum for a thread on entering petunias and calibrachoas for some pointers. I'm editing the names of existing data and adding the specific extra data. Note, all the petunias that you will be entering will have the Genus as Petunia and the Species as x hybrida. We will have to leave the Series blank because each series names the petunias with the same info. For example there is a Dreams Red, Madness Red, Easy Wave Red etc. So we need to keep the series name as part of the cultivar name. It won't work to have "red" and then a bunch of different series in the same genus/species group.

These may help and you can copy & past when you enter a Trademark name. ® ™ ©

Also, should we put the Wave family additional common names Easywave, Shockwave etc, incase people spelled it that way as one word? The system tags threads that the terms have been mentioned. What do yo think? let me know if you would like to help with entering varieties in the system.

Thanks,
Joanne

Also, Many series have "named mixes" where you can buy the plants or seed packages that are a mix. These include specific varieties per mix and should not be entered as a single variety. We will put the Named Mix with the variety that the mix includes as a comment to the varieties in the mix.
