I have given enough pics on both the golden spine and the white spine. Some are fuzzy due to focal distance being less. In some they are growing together.

Masud.

If I call the white thorn'd one O. microdasys var. albispina would there be agreement? Also if I call the golden spines one as Opuntia microdasys var. pallida would there be agreement?

Looking at the examples I have found, you are probably correct Masud.

I tip my hat to you. Happy to see you. Now lets wait for objections to be raised. Smiling Only twenty minutes or so have passed.
As an aside, when are you going to teach me how to use my D90 like you do. Just joking, search for Rolliflex(Rollicord) then compare it with a D90 Rolling on the floor laughing from fiddling with rings on the lens to squinting at a screen. Oh well. how difficult can it be.

Masud.

Have you got a Rolleicord Masud? That's some machine! Hilarious!

Oh I have to fiddle lens, I only shoot in manual mode but even though the lens is a fixed focal length you still have to turn the ring at the end to focus. You can imagine how difficult that can be with a quick moving bee! nodding

When you get a Nikon D90 I will teach you how to use it, there are models out now with much higer megapixels but the D90 is a good camera. Ken Rockwell's site is good, he recommends the newer D 5100 now but I always take what I read with a pinch of salt as people use cameras for different purposes. When mine gets worn out I will have to be searching for a new one! My camera has started to throw a few black shots lately, I shoot fast and long so they soon wear out. Rolling on the floor laughing

That honestly was some machine(Rolleiflex 2.8F TLR Lovey dubby ). No, I sold it when roll film became to expensive after that I have been fighting with these digital ones. Yes I have a D90, 18-105mm and prime lens of 50mm. My problem is the readout so I am also using it in manual mode. Plus I was more used to point and shoot. Adjustment problems I suppose, it was a big leap.
I keep the Cybershot in my pocket ever since I came across ATP, the other thing is cumbersome to make it into a piece of my attire.
How you manage to chase bugs with it, this is really some thing that I should see. So, when do my classes start?
My Nokia Classic mobile phone 3.2 megapixel out performs the Cybershot in close up shots?

Masud.

The Cybershot is probably outdated now compared to the newer technology, even in mobile phones. I don't have a mobile phone, don't need one either. I started with a Sony DSC V1! I needed a camera and lens which could take photos of small insects, that's when I advanced to a Nikon D40X but for a start I used a 70-200mm lens which was no good for close up shots, you had to stand miles away! Then came the prime 105mm lens and 2x teleconverter which I used with the D40X until that wore out, I had taken over 130,000 shots with it. Rolling on the floor laughing Funny that you should have both Sony and Nikon too! I never used the Sony once I got the DSLR, it had been good to learn to use a digital camera and that didn't at first seem easy. Thinking back, I really don't know how I got to where I am, I guess I needed to and was determined to do it.

If you really want to learn how to use your D90 you have to get your head around the settings, look at the paper manual, try things, the paper manual is not easy to follow. When I first got the D40X I was horrified, almost sent it back! Nope, had to master that monster or I would never progress. If you need help with settings send me a tree mail Masud, I will do my best to help if I remember what I have done. Hilarious!

Half a century back, no problem. Now digital readout but you are correct once you get your mind on the subject and if it does not keep wandering down memory lane Whistling Also if you can manage shifting between far vision and near vision glasses on the fly Hilarious! then those digital squiggles do become a snap. That's another matter that on the old cameras the feel of your hands on the rings, you had no need of eyes, could even take a snap in the dark. :crying:
Any way digital or feel, the theory is the same. Thumbs up
