Dave,

Is there a way that the "Also Sold As" will come up in a Search.

For example, in the petunia database, we have the Perfectunia™ series entered in the Bingo® series as an "Also Sold As". If you type in Bingo, in the petunias Cultivar search field, all the Bingos are listed, but if you type in Perfectunia, you get nothing. The same goes for The Isabells in Calbrachoas. The Isabells are an Also Sold As and the system does not find them.

Thanks

Well, right now the cultivar search only searches for cultivar names and nothing else. I don't think it searches trade names, either. Do we want to change it to a more general search that includes all the other names? In that case, it becomes less focused of a tool. We already have a general search engine that searches the also sold as, as well as other names.

It would give some purpose to having the Also Sold AS info. What do others think?

Could be that some one is searching for the 'Sold As' name while in the cultivar search area. That could be confusing if it doesn't come up in a search. I have run into that with some other plants and it took me awhile to figure out why the plants where showing up in a cultivar search.

I think we should have that feature added. Thumbs up

The Search Data Field that I was referring to is in the Petunias Database. If I start Typing "B" "I", it pops up a list of all the "Tradenames". The thing is, it doesn't pop up any for "P" "E" "F", where I was expecting the Also Sold As "Perfectunias" to show up and my thoughts were if they were there and I would click on one, it would upload the custom datasheet of the "Bingo", since the Bingo was the original and the Perfectunia is the Also Sold As. Otherwise the only way that you would see the Prefectunia series is if you happened to notice that it is an Also Sold As on the Bingo datasheet.

So if I bout a petunia Perfectunia™ Coral, and went to search it on the database, it would not show as a result since it is entered in the database as Bingo® Coral, with cultivar Wespebicor. And we can not have Perfectunia™ Coral in the database since the cultivar is already in as the Bingo® Coral, which is exactly what we want.

The issue is that there doesn't seem to be a search result that is a Also Sold As

Ok, I've added it. Check it now and see if it's looking right.
