I always enjoy the blooms on my Thanksgiving cactus plants. Today I got a Noid that has white and pink blooms. The buds are peach though. I've had my red TC for 2 years now and its done very well this year with blooming. I try to collect at least 1 TC each year. I had a yellow Thanksgiving cactus last year, but most of it died. I still managed to keep one segment alive. It seems to be more picky than the other colors.

Beautiful blooms! Your newest NOID looks a lot like S. 'White Christmas'.

Thank you Masud and Tee. I've had my crotons for 4 years now and when I bring them indoors they always lose quite a few leaves but as soon as I put them outside in Spring, they recover nicely. I've killed several crotons in the past, but my current ones seem to be very hardy and tolerant lol. I have a friend who has two crotons that stay indoors all year and they only receive a little light in the morning. Both have blooms on them. My friend never does anything special to them. Thanks so much Tee for id'ing my Thanksgiving cactus. I need to write that down so I can remember to label it.

I had to go to Walmart to get it because Lowes and Home Depot only had the red and pink varieties. I wish they would sell other colors

Cameron - Your Crotons might do better indoors if you create a humid environment for them; daily misting helps.

Thanks Hetty. I'll start misting them more. I try to mist them at least twice a day, I also have a humidifier but I don't have room to put it by my crotons lol.

I couldn't help but get in on this conversation!! I also love holiday cactus,(shorter than naming all 3).I haven't had any of mine long except 1 that was passed to me from my mother. There was a time it was probably the only plant i had & it was lucky to get watered,it would have a bloom or two every year & that was about it..After i got more into growing plants i re-potted it.To find 3 or 4 different plants in the pots. Now this year it is blooming a new color. The plants were so intertwined i left them planted that way.It only has 1 color on it and i thought it had bloomed a light pink in the past so either my memory is really bad or the plants are different & taking turns. They haven't opened up yet, here's what i have so far.Thumb of 2012-12-01/jojoe/e2d052

these last 2 pictures are the same bloom the bottom picture looks a little darker than it really was,the buds looked pink until right before they opened & i got it as a pink ??? i think it was a mystery.

My last two have opened does anyone have any idea of the names of any of the colors of my plants? I only know 'polka dancer',peaches & cream',I have one called 'petra's salmon' it's a christmas cactus and hasn't even gotten a bud.I just received this plant so maybe the shock of the trip from New Jersey could be preventing it from blooming.I will keep my fingers crossed & the plant in the sun!!!

Thank you for the compliments on my plants!!! I am still learning about them, they can be very forgiving but not about everything!!! The pictures of the white & the gold one was taken yesterday this morning they are open!!! Hurray!

I wish I could help you ID them. My pink Thanksgiving cactus blooms are about to open. They are much smaller than the other blooms.
