In my persuit of , something a' little different', I purchased seeds of lilium 'Starburst' from 'Georgia Vines' late in 2010..It turned out that year , that liliums 'Pup Art' and 'Olina' were available in the bulb market, so my seed purchase, had been somewhat futile..Today[after 2 yrs of raising] I could not resist ,assisting to open the 'orange ' bud[thinking/hoping, could it possibly be 'Buggys' -orange 'Starburst] Thumbs down Confused NO!!-you guess!!- mine is'Orange Art'Thumb of 2012-11-29/gwhizz/c9744f

Well, I think it looks like it will be grand. I'm not familiar with the parentage of Starburst, but it would be likely that seed of Starburst would not come true, anyway. Your result so far, however, does seem far removed from the original hybrid. And it looks like eight petals...

I like the way the bud is opening on that one. Wonder if it will do that next season. That's a pretty unique trait, if it is not just an anomaly.
Can you imagine breeding that into a double form?

Another red variantThumb of 2012-12-27/gwhizz/49993b
There were a couple more orange shades that I missed due to excessive lilium growth around the entrance of 'seed vortex 2'
