Always pretty, Bree. I have two in bud, in the shack, but waiting for them to open is really an excercise in patience.

Me too, I have hopes to see a flower like that on my new little Psychopsis in a couple of years. At least it has stopped sulking and perked right up since I re-potted it.

New one opening for me this morning, I swear I've been waiting months for this bud to bloom! Things happen slowly with orchids anyway, but in winter? Glacial pace.

Terrible fuzzy shot of Bc. Little Lulu opening. It has a lot more rosy shading and spots on it this time. Hoping it will fade to pink like Mj's did. I have 4 more of these mounted on a big branch of my oak tree. They are attached, but struggling somewhat, and certainly not blooming just yet. We shall see!

Three spikes blooming away on B. Little Stars. Twinkle twinkle! So fragrant at night, DH comments as he comes in the door "what smells?". Typical.
Thumb of 2012-12-20/dyzzypyxxy/d39dbf
Last shot (I promise) of my maybe Yellow Bird. All flowers yellow now, two with spots on the lip, two without. I have a spike on my Yellow Bird that has a tag, so we will have a genuine one to compare it to.

My "opal" Spathoglottis - white, yellow, purple, red - blooming their hearts out. Cold weather is predicted for the weekend, I'll have to cover them for sure!

I'm thinking David Jr. and a big winter storm should both be arriving at Kathy's house today. I'm anxious to hear if he made it.

Yes, I think you have to have the patience of a saint to watch those beautiful Paph buds...I'm not a saint!
Elaine , the colors on your Spathoglottis are amazing...and you got a big bang for your buck with that
Yellow Bird wanna be...has it been in bloom for months now?..Amazing!
Thanks for all your nice compliments on my pictures..I can't take much credit, except for cropping the image.
I leave my very technical camera on full automatic and it does all the heavy lifting..

for those of you that may not have seen my high tech set up, this is what I do to get my pictures. Unfortunately
there's only a few months of the year when the sun actually comes in a window. I would love to know how to
use Adobe photoshop, but that is WAY above my skill set!!

Lindsey, I have the Photoshop Element 10. ( I started out with Element 2, then 4 and now 10) It is really intuitive and not difficult to use at all. Just play with the drop menus a bit! You will see it is not "way above your skill set". It is easy to crop, reduce, sharpen etc. Just click around and check it out.

Elaine, I like your Spathoglottis a lot! Lovey dubby

Love that orange one, Lindsay! Nice shot. As Ursula says, Photoshop is easy to learn and you will love it. I used to take hundreds of pictures of our sailboat racing regattas, and used it a lot for that - cropping, and leveling the horizons are a snap. Lots of other really cool features to play with, too. You can make your photos look like engravings, watercolors, or colored pencil drawings with a single click. (yes, I have spent a lot of hours fooling around with it for fun)

I have a very fancy high-tech camera, too, but nearly all the pictures of my orchids that you folks see are from my phone. Hey, it's always in my pocket . . . occasionally shoot a dud like little Lulu above, but mostly they're not bad. It has trouble with washing out when there is bright back lighting and there's no zoom, though.

Jim that Enc. is really pretty.

I'm not sure if any of you will be interested or not but I've been working on putting many of my orchid pics on a web site. You can access it here: http://tampaorchidclub.shutter...

Let me know what you think.

Thanks, Ursula. I can now just send the web site to relatives and such that want to see my orchids. I would still like to organize them somehow but it sure takes lots of time.

All beautiful, Ursula. Love that Den moniliforme in both its formes.

This cold (for Florida) weather seems to be stimulating a lot of spikes - nearly all my Phals including a couple of the recent rescues.

Happy Holidays to everybody!

That is one beautiful Cattleya percivaliana 'Summit' , Ursula. I like them all, great show.

Bree, at least all of the 689 pics have names but I was transfering 100 at a time and they were not staying in order. I was selecting them alphabetically but they are anything but that now.The thought of going in and trying to rearrange those photos boggles the mind.
