Bluegrass, is the hosta you were looking for named Beet Salad? A good reference to look up hostas is the Hosta Library. http://www.hostalibrary.org/in...

Hello guys, I would like to introduce my sister, Kay. She is a fellow hosta lover. She is a bit shy and new to ATPs. We love to tour Botanical gardens together. She is my favorite garden pal :)

I love it, but it was not quite as sun tolerant as I thought. But still quite pretty with the gold and yellow colors you gets from a few hours of morning sun.

one of my favs for the south, if you can keep it out of the sun here, the leaves will put on a nice show, but yes it does tend to burn a little here in zone 8

It burns in zone 5, too! I moved it last year to a spot that gets midday sun and it got scorched. But, it was an exceptionally hot, dry year. I'll watch it this year and see if it needs to be moved to a different spot. It is a pretty one.
When all is said and done, there’s more said than done.

Yes, I am not sure if mine is alive or not but I would like to get another one and try a spot with less sun and see how it does. If I put it in shade it might not get yellow. I like yellow.
BTW - citysylvia ,
Has interest thread on the Co-op forum, for Hosta!!..

I bought it at the Nashville hosta meeting. I may plant mine in a pot so I can move it to deeper shade. I don't have much shade and one tree is a large maple and they don't seem to do well under it.
Does everyone plant ;mostly in the ground? I do but hope to make a trough for the minis this Spring. I like the idea of having the little ones grouped together.

I actually got two extra ones last year on a bargain bench. Then gave them away like an idiot.
They are great color and I will get a couple more and not so much sun this time. Got to rearrange some Hostas this spring and then I will see what I have room for.

I've been away for a while, but this seems like a great thread to jump back in on. Some of the ones on my (admittedly too-long) list are:
The King
The Queen
Guardian Angel (can't believe I don't have one)
Cranberry Wine
On Stage
Final Summation
Sunset Grooves
Pocketful of Sunshine
Andrew
Sharp Dressed Man
Woodland Elf (in memory of my mom, who passed away February 1st)
Spinach Souffle
I'm sure there are more. That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
I'll be moving as soon as the ground thaws to a one-acre lot on my family's farm. Many of my hostas are going to come with me (hence waiting for the thaw), so I'll have a fresh new palette to work with.
Check out Petiole Junction, my garden blog! (I'd love your comments.)
