What are the fastest growing or spreading sempervivums?

Hi Kelley,

Just off the top of my head some of my fastest growing are Ford's Spring, Abba, Director Jacobs, Ali, Icicle, Tederheid, Red Lion, Pacific Blazing Star, Ronny. Are you currently growing any sempervivum? Are you looking for fast spreading ones because you have a project in mind? If so, we'd love to hear about it.

Hi Kelly.
Most of mine seem to be abundant growers once the new plant gets a nice root system going.
I have very few that don't produce well, one is Gruenrand, a lovely semp but may only make one or two offsets in a season. I have also had problems with Fuzzy Wuzzy (could be our constant rain for 4 months of the year).

It is becoming easier to figure out productivity by going through the database and looking at the photos.
For instance, here is S. 'Leneca' as a new young plant in May of 2011 and again in June of 2012


I would choose photos from the same person for a better comparison, growing conditions are so different. Where do you live? What are your growing conditions like? Growing zone?
