Very beautiful Bev...I was going to use chicken wire but thought the holes would be too large, but honestly the stuff I have is too small Thumbs down I've cut it where I wanted larger plants and placed soil on top of the screen
Also...big update due to the rain and the fact that I didn't make holes in the bottom of the wood (which I would now recommend doing) I lifted the whole thing vertically lengthwise (basically on its side), to about 45 or maybe a bit steeper angle...everything is staying in place so it should be fine. This is after only a few days, so roots are really happening yet, but needed to drain water off! Again, once a month or so has gone by and things are more rooted I'll lift it upright and at almost the full vertical Smiling

Greg, you could also place it under your roof overhang, so the rain won't be a problem.

So, Greg, what night is garbage night in your area? You find such interesting things in the buckets put out at night for disposal... Whistling I know of one lady that never puts anything in the buckets and seems to empty one or two every week - she is my main source. I have a couple of other people that use them and save the empties for me. I'll likely have about 100 of them converted by next summer, since I started collecting them last spring.

Bev - I will take updated photos (even if its a total failure!)
Lynn - I live in an apartment building that surprisingly has no overhang, so that isn't an option, they did seem much better after I tipped it up a bit! Thumbs up

Twit Rolling on the floor laughing Its too dangerous! As it is I've begun collecting old things that "may" have some garden significance (for example someone gave me an 1990's style chandelier - its not very attractive, but I think I can "work" it and make it a layered planter or pot holder) I just don't have space for more "collectibles" Hilarious!
(on a different thread I mentioned you Twit, and that you inspired me to go through my recyclables, and I made 2 pots, one cut down from a plastic jar and the other from a carry out container!) so it is happening!! I tip my hat to you. Hurray!

Update...due to rains I've had to stand up the green wall (I don't know degrees so I won't try saying but its not quite straight up, so maybe 80 degrees, leaning against a cement wall) Hurray! It looks good, and everything is staying in place (which is amazing!)
Here is of course a photo!! I tip my hat to you. Thumb of 2012-12-15/gg5/cc2409

You guys helped me all along the way, and I know what I'll do differently with the next ones! Thumbs up
I showed my building manager and told him what I want to do with them (about hanging them on the 15 foot cement wall, (which belongs to the building next door) my building manager said he'll go talk with their management and ask for permission to mount the mini green walls all along their wall, which is how I envisioned the complete project (so its very exciting!) as usual I'll take photos! It'll look very cool to have several pieces all different sizes and plants!
And a friend gave me my first Jovibarba heuffelii, for a holiday gift (they transplanted it into a "nicer" pot and didn't keep the label Confused Sad
So my first heuffelii is a 'NOID' ah well!! Smiling
It is funny though that now I want to know and keep track of all the different varieties by name rather than just by color! Sticking tongue out
Thanks again ya'll I tip my hat to you.

That's the beauty of it...easily 15 feet tall and 40 feet long (although I've already planted several trees in front of it, so there's a space left for something like this semp green wall Rolling my eyes.
