Are they difficult to grow?

Thanks, Lynn. No, it's very easy from seed; seeds germinate at room temperature with no pretreatment. The plant is very hardy and seems undemanding (it's zone 3 here and a dry, cool climate) - I would say rock garden conditions are likely necessary, as it is an alpine. It is, unfortunately, monocarpic. I have some rosettes that haven't bloomed yet from sowing 2 years ago and I've scattered seed around, so I hope I can get it to be self-sustaining!

I may give it a try then, put in on my covered deck during the rainy season. I don't think it would survive out in the raised beds with months of cold and rain.
