Hi,
Can you tell me when the best time to trim a Knock Out rose is?

Also I am open for suggestions for a white or pink climbing rose to put on my garden arch. This yr I had a Mandelvilla vine but would like to put a fragrant ,low maintance
rose there this Spring.
Bee Kind, make the world a better place.

in colder zones, I follow this word of wisdom: don't prune until the forsythias bloom. Pruning encourages growth & if you prune too early & the rose thinks that it's springtime, it'll start to send out shoots which could be killed by a late frost, then the whole thing could be killed. Sad

Were your mandevilla Red?

Here's a great link for trimming knock outs. (I don't trim mine)

I agree with Skiekitty for pruning advice.

I have an Explorer John Davis Rose on my arbor. Great bloomer and very "cane" hardy.
