That's it for now. I have about 50 others, but no photographs of them. I'll try to take pictures of all of them this year.

Wow, I want all the warm colored ones plus The Prince & Tradescant!

The more I grow them, the more I realize they're the perfect roses for Northern California. They thrive here. High humidity precludes growing roses with this many petals in some other locations. Besides, they're much easier to find in grafted form than my beloved hybrid teas, most of which struggle on their own roots.

Cool! Most of the Austins I want or have! How tall does Charlotte get for you, Zuzu? Also, how tall does Pegasus get?

Charlotte is taller than Pegasus, Terri. Charlotte's also upright, whereas Pegasus grows horizontally more than vertically, at least in my garden. I'd estimate Charlotte's height at 4-5 feet and Pegasus at 3-4 feet.

Hard to compare, though, in view of the fact that my Charlotte's grafted and Pegasus is an own-root plant.

Ah, true, true. OK, still can't decide. Will just have to get both!

No blooms yet, I will spare you photos of the record number of aphids which seem to love Austin roses as much as I do. Argghhh.

I'm fortunate to live close to the Alnwick Garden which has possibly the best collection of Austin roses in the country. The rose garden which was only opened in 2001 is absolutely stunning in mid summer. There are all kinds of roses there but primarily Austins, and of course The Alnwick Rose was named for the garden.
