I'll bet they are happy to see you because there walking partner is here, and treats as well. How many dogs do you walk? and how many at a time. I went to the conservatory up by you last year and saw a person walking about 6 dogs at one time. I have issues with just my 2, getting better though.

I agree I know, I've never tried more than 3, because I'm somewhat challenged??? Sticking tongue out and also because I'm patient,
so I tend to take the "needy" dogs. Usually its one at a time because (3 of them) don't like other dogs. Although I think once we were walking it'd be fine, they'd just do their thing, but its getting to the other's house and figuring out what to do with the one while I ran in for the other...easier just one on one Thumbs up
Although the boston and chihuahua are neighbors and I walk them together, the chihuahua is very tentative until we're well on the way...boston loves everyone (has to greet all we meet etc)
Anyway, I regularly (per week) walk 4 dogs and then pet sit another (so 5 total)
The 2 dachshunds are maybe starting up again in January
Soon Hurray!

Wow, Greg, that's a lot of dog walking. Some days I can't even break away to walk my one dog, although I do try to keep that as a priority. Even though Frankie has acreage to run on herself (and she does), she's always excited when I put on my walking shoes. We walk off-leash in my rural neighborhood, and I have had good luck training her to come to my side and sit whenever the occasional vehicle approaches (steady supply of treats in all my coat pockets).

I had a boxer-lab prior to Frankie, that was a nice mix as well. What part of Seattle are you in (I grew up in Lake City)?

Know the area well - my husband was a patient at Swedish twice this year to get both his knees replaced (May and October). I'm an hour north of the city so just stayed in-hospital with him and did a fair amount of wandering around the neighborhoods.

BH - hopefully you went into Seattle U's grounds, they're gorgeous, and until very recently managed by "Cisco" (of 'gardening with Cisco' fame)! I love living so close to this wonderful urban garden! (it makes living in an apt. possible!)

Ack! No, I did not even think of the college campus. I did, however, make a point of going through the Volunteeer Park Conservatory which brings back very fond memories from my childhood. My father's grandparents built one of the Tudor manions on Prospect Street directly across from the park, and I remember the lush greenery of the conservatory combined with the awesomeness of looking at this huge house that used to belong to my family. In recent years, I've connected with the current owners of the "Bloch House" who have been very gracious to let us 'tour' the old homestead.

Greg, yes I did see the photos - lovely. I toured the conservatory in October - still as lush and beautiful as my childhood memories, although I think I remember a much bigger water garden back in the day.

Lynn, we used to have a rat dog* living next door, who taught my boxer mix how to hunt. They were quite the buds. Despite her rather square snout, Frankie still brings me the occasional field mouse or mole.

*No offense intended, I'm not very schooled in dog breeds, just going from the long pointed nose and your comments.
