There's a scam email running around from "Rogue Valley Roses" stating that they're stuck in England and need $$ to get back to the US. It's a definite scam and a very common one at they. Do not respond to the email!!! I promise it's a scam. It's too early to be calling them but I will call them to let them know that their email distribution list has been compromised. Here's the email I got:

Hello, How are you doing? Am writing you this mail in distress, l have been all handicap, I am sorry that I didn’t inform you about my traveling to England for a Seminar to expand my business idea prior to the upcoming season sales. I need a favor from you as soon as you receive this e-mail, I was proposed to be coming back home Tomorrow immediately after the seminar, but on my way back to my hotel, I was attacked and robbed, my mobile phone and all the cash I had was stolen. Luckily for me I still have my passport with me which I left in my hotel room before. But right now the hotel management has collected all to that am owning unless I have my bills cleared, I have been to the Embassy and the Police here but they're not helping issues at all, at the moment I am stranded, I can't pay my bills, Could you please help me with £3000 (GB)British Pounds which is about 4,730.51 USD to enable me pay my bills and fly back home tomorrow as scheduled, As soon as I get back I would refund it immediately. Am sending you this email in agony and tears. I hope to have your response shortly. Regards Rogue Valley Roses

This is a direct cut/paste. It is not a legit email so do not fall for it!!

Their email has been hacked, the password will have been changed. The exact same thing happened to me; it creates quite a mess, but I can't believe anyone would fall for it. The hacker doesn't even have a good grasp of English!

PPal - You'd be surprised as to how many people actually DO fall for it. I know of one person who thought something very similar was legit & asked my advice... and I told my parents that before respond to ANYTHING like this, PLEASE call me to verify!!

I got one of those too. I should say I've received several, all allegedly from friends, although never from friends even close enough to expect a dime from me. Also, as Porkpal pointed out, no English speaker would say "I have been all handicap" or initial cap "Seminar" and "Police." These scammers are so obviously foreign.

I got one of those emails too..I wrote to RVR and told them about it. What I found amusing was their useage of Rogue Valley Roses as a personal name instead of a name for a business.
