Pedro Dot, a Spanish hybridizer (1885-1972), produced many amazingly beautiful roses. Unfortunately, most of them aren't available on this continent, and those that are available are always own-root roses. I really wish I could find some of these in grafted versions.

This is Angel Guimera, a 1926 hybrid tea.

I had an interesting thing happen to one of my Catalonias one year when it got hit by Roundup drift. It mutated temporarily into something resembling a collarette dahlia. It's all better now, but this was fun while it lasted.

This is Condesa de Sastago, one of Dot's most popular and most readily available roses. It's a 1930 hybrid tea.

Duquesa de Penaranda, a 1931 hybrid tea, probably would be best grafted. It struggled and struggled on its own roots and produced this one bloom before it croaked.

Climbing Duquesa de Penaranda is a sport of Duquesa. It's more vigorous and it's a completely different color.

I have five other Dot roses that have never bloomed yet. I'll add them to the thread when they bloom this year. In the meantime, here's another shot of Maria Peral. It starts out almost a solid color and then does this:
