Lynn that's mutual!
Hurray! (about you making me laugh, I won't be turning 70, me = 53 in March!) Congrats on 70!! Thumbs up
I went out today and sure enough all that brown, in the photos, which the other day was stiff and healthy feeling, today was soggy and pealed off my semps a little too easily, now I'm nervous that I'll loose them Sad (but those are all my NOID's, so I'll be okay with whatever happens! Its in someone else's hands than mine! Angel )
It took me several hours of gently peeling away leaves! Anytime someone walked by I would think "if they only knew what I have growing in these beds, and what I'm doing here...one tiny leaf at a time! Nothing too good for my little semps! These people would think I'm nuts!" Rolling on the floor laughing
I could check I'm sure but Lynn when is your bday?? I hope you're family is planning something nice! Hurray! I tip my hat to you.

Greg, Your last post makes me a little nervous for you. Peeling leaves while the plants are water logged can possibly do some damage and might trigger some rot. Watch out for it. If it occurs, dig the plant right away, wash gently to remove excess soil but dry immediately by setting on an absorbent towel out of the rain or place in front of a gentle fan. You will want to remove any rot as soon as possible, even if you have to cut it out of the stem. Any leaves with rot can safely be removed, but gently. Rot on the stem will usually kill the whole plant if not removed.

Good advice twit. I have had to do just that with ones that did not have enough grit/gravel under the rosette leaves. Thumbs up

If the plant is looking generally healthy, other than the dead/dry leaves that turned to rot, I have had good luck with gently removing the mushy leaves and carefully placing grit/gravel up under the rosette. So it won't sit on the wet soil.

Greg I won't turn 70 until next Sept. I'm just excited about the big seven-zero birthday. Rolling on the floor laughing

Thanks guys for advise, I was very gentle, and there wasn't a huge amount of rot (several died, but I think they flowered, they had chicks so I'd been leaving them, but gently pulled them yesterday, leaving the chicks) Thumbs up
Lynn that is exciting!!
Cheers
