Bev, don't even try walking sideways or backwards on a treadmill. You will stumble and fall. Probably end up breaking a few bones in the bargain. Yes operative word is walking plus no monkey tricks, bones to brittle for anything else.
My set of walking muscles are fine, it is those unused/disused climbing muscles
. In spite of a treadmill parked in my bedroom I prefer rough terrain to keep all the sets of walking muscles in condition, especially the one across the shin bone.
Couch potatoes and slugs, keep on motivating. Even one on track is a feather in the cap
