Those will be real eye catchers Jo Ann.
Do your clematis over winter in pots? If so what size are the pots. I have several clematis that need to go into permanent homes this spring. I might give a try with some containers. I never thought of that before.

I would check the mature height of the clems. Vagabond is shorter but still 4-5 feet
Biju is only 18-24 inches high and a good one for pots. The clems are really deep in the soil and I compost them so winter cant do too much harm.
The containers thay are in are 18-20 nches in diameter and in a protected corner with the deck on oneside and the woodpile on the other.
Google "clematis for containers" see what comes up.

I was going to order from this company. They have some that would be good in containers. I was thinking of doing this myself bit it's hard to choose with so many offered.

They are a very well respected company.
I think the hardest part of gardening is having to make hard choices and leave behind plants that are just great.

Good luck on your search for a short clem for your planters.

Jo Ann loved your planting ideas but where do you get all that energy from? Still many years to go before my garden reaches the required state of development for these. Just now stuck to succulents.
Regards,
Arif.

Sorry, I was just confused by the size of your garden and mine. Even though mine is a postage stamp in front of your football field, I know the amount of labor, dedication and no sick leave that a postage stamp requires. Sometimes I feel like giving up but then no fun will be left in life.
Regards,
Arif.
