Any plant coming from my friend Ursula would merit a prize position in the OC. Thumbs up

Ursula, I would take a chunk of your beautiful Coelia bella, since nothing grows very big for me here. Did it hafta get big to bloom? Sun space is at a premium here too. So that might make a difference for bloom. I have an awful lot of plants that I've grown for years for foliage only. Angry

I on the other hand, indulged in a visit to the orchid show, and bought another baby to bring home. I think it's going to be a long time before my garden is "full" of orchids. (Jim has lots of room in his garden, too)

Cymbidium Silco Yellow, a fragrant, heat tolerant variety that the grower says will very likely bloom twice a year! It was the last one of this type that they had, so all the flowers are fully open already.

Here are some other pictures of beauties at the show. Sorry, I didn't get some names, but the first one Bl. Yellow Bird 'Fred' was my other favorite. Anybody guess what color I like?

Good looking Paph, Bree! Thumbs up

Kathy, they don't need to get large to bloom. I will also "pin" your name on a piece when I tackle that beast!

Elaine, we overlapped!
Very pretty blooms there! I love the peach Cattleya!
The Coelia delia is actually Coelia bella ( or Bothriochilus bellus) That's the plant we just mentioned. Mine was done blooming a couple of weeks ago.

Ok the evil deed is done.
I made a huge mess using my bread knife and slicing straight through the Coelia bella. I think I have now several good divisions with decent leads. I did however see a couple of spots of the dreaded Boisduval scale, so I need to make sure they are all clean before I send them out. I will treat everything and then I also will see the next couple of days (or weeks in a couple of cases) what continues to grow as the new growth had emerged together with the blooms.
Thumbs up Things are looking good so far.

I have a Cymbidium Golden Elf that Laurel is waiting for-for 5 years now. I am a chicken since it's huge and its roots are attached to a giant terracotta pot! Maybe this year since it is producing less and less spikes.....

Thanks for the correction above, Ursula. Glad your job is done on Coelia Bella.

I'll get into the spirit of dividing my big yellow Brassavola, if those crazy blooms will ever drop! In summer they only last two or three weeks, but it's been at least 6 weeks that plant has been blooming now! They're getting very orange.

Nuts!! I just discovered I put a big post on the December thread and no wine tonight either. Ursula, do you have a quick fix or should I go back and redo everything?

Jim, I have the option of either deleting it or splitting it off and make a new thread out if it.
You know, I wonder if you can start your new post and simply do a large cut and paste with the content of the misplaced post?
edited to add - I was envisioning to do the cut/ copy paste while your post is in editing mode. Not showing the pictures, but the code. I forgot to say that.
Other than that I could ask Dave to move it or simply repost.
It is a very nice selection!

Now what to do about the wine, not a good thing to run out.... Thumbs down Smiling

Interesting about the Snow Ballet. I wonder if Carol knows about that. Both Snow Ballet and Golden Tang do not want to stop blooming. I'm worried that they need a rest.

No Jim, I didn't know about that. Mine is blooming, but loosing leaves. I guess the combination of low temps and constant wet is the culprit. I'll have to dump it out and check the roots. I really don't want to lose it. Very nice show, by the way. I really like Blc. 'golden tang'.
I have a couple of blooms, but haven't been able to get photos yet

Carol
