Finally something new from here - my first Catt which I over-potted 2 years ago has finally forgiven me. Buds got damaged a bit, as they emerged from a dry, dead looking sheath, but the color is even richer than I remembered. Two more buds coming along on this one. The tag is down in the pot, firmly held by the roots, so we'll have to call it a "noid for now".

I have a feeling that Ursula is about to show us how it's done. I can't wait.

Nice mystery Catt, Elaine.. I'm going to post one just about like it.

First of all, I feel pretty spiffy sitting here with all of this new office furniture. It all smells so new. I took a walk around the OC today and spotted the first flower of the year on my Rhyncholaelia digbyana. This is one of the must have orchids but it always seems to need a shave. Hilarious!

The Vanda that has been in spike forever finally opened. This is Vanda denisoniana X Vanda Udom Gold.

There are two huge blooms on Blc. Annie Belle. It may well be the biggest Catt type flower I have ever seen.

I couldn't find a tag on this big fellow but I think it looks a lot like the one Elaine just posted. Does anyone else agree?

I love the rich red color on this NOID Dendrobium. I have it mounted on one of those lizard logs from the pet store.

Gorgeous show, there. The Vanda looks like it is made of porcelain - amazing. Just love the digbyana.

Jim, I think your Catt has more peach and more floof, absolutely lovely! Mine has just about pure gold petals once they mature, as I recall.

I'm looking back to summer of 2011 to find the pictures I took when I bought it. Here's that pic. I think it has matured . .. ??

Wow, you all were busy while I was digging around in my favorite greenhouse and happily Orchid - chatting.

Bree, I love the lacquered look of the Fireball Flame!

Jim, you have a most gorgeous show going on there. I am surprised the spike hasn't snapped off under the weight of the Blc Annie Belle. ( as Lc Irene Finney just loves to do...)
Your digbyana is just gorgeous, you are doing great with this one, it loves your conditions!
Congrats on your new furniture!

Elaine, nice color on your noid! Thumbs up

About my visit to Silva today -
I didn't take many pictures, I was too busy looking, picking and chatting. But - how do you like this monster of Laelia anceps? This is one plant, hitting your eyes when you walk into the greenhouse.

Amazing anceps! Mine are also opening on mile long spikes.
Jim, love that vanda. And great growing on the digbyana! Good news, I'm growing some nice new roots on David Sander!!

Kathy, I was really reminded of your neat Zoom X. I wish I would do better with these Aussie Dens, I was so tempted to ask for a keiki, that plant was huge.

Love that Dialaelia and of course the L.endsfeldzii. Pedro's Moon is a great paph. How do you keep your Tolumnias alive? I always lose them to scale and consider them "annuals."

Thanks Kathy.
Yes, about the Mermaid/Marmaid. I just checked at the RHS and didn't find the Marmaid, only Mermaid. Hmmmm. I wonder if it was simply corrected?

Regarding Tolumnias - I tossed them last Summer ( and every Summer) for a couple of hours ( a good soak!) into the Bayer's triple stuff and - miracles do happen - they stayed clean so far. I check them every so often, good for now.
