Ok, lets put it another way. What I have heard is your nighttime temperatures are milder but daytime temperatures can be as ferocious as ours in summers. Now in winters the shoe is on the other foot. Our winters are as bad as Oregon's or lets say Lynn's area, same miserable conditions here and the way things are going we might get snow even. Snow falls every ten years. Now zone 9a's minimum temperature is -6.7C or 20F, so far so good. Our average summer is 45C or 113F which if it wants to, it can go up to 47C some years. Now my father-in-law from San Jose area is here these days as a visiting professor and I can assure you he is feeling the cold these days and has started to hibernate but he cribs in summers? He cribs in winters that it is to cold and he cribs in summers that it is too hot?
