Frugal Gardening

Garage Sales/Flea Markets/Craigslist are great places to find used tools and plants, especially estate sales where an older couple used to live. Also check your local FreeCycle, especially if you enjoy bulbs/rhizomes. You won't know their exact name, but a rose by any other name is still pretty.

Flea markets as well. Shovels and pruners are just a few of the bargains I've snagged. They can be expensive new. Old shovels make great supports for twinng vines and can also be lashed together teepee style for peas and other things.

And what isn't too usable or servicable can be great for yard art projects. nodding

Same here! As an inveterate yard sale shopper I have found many good tools, and yes, plants as well. Since we have a lot of 'snowbirds' where I live, they often throw out plants when they leave to go back up north. I have found many an orchid and bromeliad that way Thumbs up

One of my very favorite hobbies is Yard/Garage/Estate sales.
I've lost count of the treasures I have found.
Plant containers
Garden tools
Plants some of my favorites that are still in my gardens
Meeting new people
Yard art items
A like new leather couch from Italy.
An A Espoy oil painting in original frame
And the list goes on.
