Can Anyone tell me how can I tell how old is my Desert Rose?
I got this one for a present from mum and she got it from a Salem so I have no idea how old it is. Im also new to Adeniums world and so far loving it. This one gave me 19 Pods and plenty full seeds, I don't know if it was natural polinated or by hand, it came to me like that, I was so happy. I have several other small ones and to many babys from seeds to count lol

It's impossible to tell from that,or any,photo.My oldest is 5 years old and the caudex is about 6 inches in diameter.Those of mine which have a 4 inch caudex are 2 to 4 years old.Maybe that will give you something to go by.It really depends on the species and the growing conditions.

That age question is bound to remain a mystery.

I would guess at least five years.

19 pods, WOW!! There are a number of insects that pollinate, Skipper butterflies, thrips.

Oh guys thank u so much, I didn't check in before because I thought that I would get a notice that somebody answered, but that's ok, I realy apritiate u answering. Oh and good one Coconut lol, I thought it might have more than 5 y, it's spread out a lot, and who ever had it before me they never cut it back or replanted I gues because on the outside its not showing any caudex so I'm looking forward to replanting it as soon as last to pods are ready. Little bit scared though because I'm not sure how long should I leave it out to cure after cutting of some roots.

Till now I have planted 550 seeds the ones u can see, and have another 170 in the 3 trays I planted yesterday, and two more pods to go, and I also lost about 50 seeds because two of them opened when they were smaller so I didn't expect it lol. Also have one Odd ball here a pity it will not survive.
Oh yeah and that's the flower this mummy has .

Now you'll have to post photos of your, their progress, and when the start bloming, too. With that mother, they will have quite a variety of shapes and colors of blossoms. Here's a photo of a group of siblings from one self-pollinated solid pink. (Not the 'classic' pink that shades to a white throat.)

Oh, and I see the one albino. Don't get all excited, it won't live. If I get any more, the next time I plant, I'm going to try to micro-graft them. Haven't had any success yet... They don't have chlorophyl for food, and as far as I know, there's nothing you can do. bummer, but that's just how it is.

Yeah I know , couple of days ago it died but I knew that because I have read on several places that they don't stand a chance, but that's ok I have planty of other baby's to indulge in, two more pods to plant and Yeeeey I have some more seeds coming from Mr.Ko! I have ordered from him because I read all good things about him and he has so many veritys , so I just had to lol, I will deffinatly keep posting their progress!

I just realised that I made a mistake in flowers, the mother of my pods is the first photo and second one is another Rose from a totally different source that I bought! 😁
