Do they unfold to a "regular" type of blossom? If there is such a thing as regular.

It is fun to see the many variations.

They are old, very old. I tip my hat to you. This banner does justice to some plants/photographs and not to others. Maybe a wide angle lens in this case would have made the roses pop. Love them though Lovey dubby

Arif.

No, Arif, not a creeper. This is a very small shrub, 1-2 feet tall and 2-3 feet wide. It's a good container rose.

I was wrong about the year of introduction, incidentally. It was hybridized in 2003, but it wasn't introduced until 2007.

Arif, perhaps you were thinking of this popular rose, a creeper/climber:
Rose (Rosa 'Pierre de Ronsard')
Most often known as Eden in this country.

But it isn't very old either, Sue. I think Arif is thinking of the bourbons, centifolias, and other OGR's that look like this when the buds are halfway open.

Does this one smell good? If it smells like my mom's 'Evelyn' Rose, I might want one!

How old is this one, before '85 Blinking ?? I have seen this climber years back that it is only a memory on a wooden trellis just like in the data base. I have not seen it for many years.
Regards,
Arif.

Pierre de Ronsard was introduced in France in 1985, so it probably was hybridized shortly before that. It's quite popular in the United States, where it's known as 'Eden' or 'Eden 88.' When you said it was old, I thought you might have had something in mind like 'Madame Hardy' or 'Felicite Parmentier,' both 19th-century Albas.

Rolling on the floor laughing Come of it zuzu, I am not that long in the tooth maybe a little but that? zuzu, it might be possible that you are correct. I saw this on a wall of a 18th century Colonial House as far as I remember. This wooden trellis went out of fashion here but my mind goes towards Australia for some reason. Sydney or Albany Shrug! .
Regards,
Arif.
