I had an awesome surprise early this fall when I discovered both my pink and red Mandevilla splendens had produced seed pods! I had never in my life seen that before. I'm thinking it's due to the extraordinarily warm Winter we had last year which contributed to the buggiest year I've ever seen .. there were flying bugs everywhere.
When I went into the Tropical Greenhouse this afternoon I noticed the pods on the red Mandy were brown and dried so I clipped them off, went inside and grabbed my exacto knife.

Me either but I have a bad feeling they will be like the Mandevilla laxa which are very easy to start but difficult to keep going after the first year because they are very spindly.
