Just wanted to let you all know, there is another new sedum coming out this fall. Brent Horvath is the hybridizer.
I'll let you know when I find out what nursery/nurseries will be carrying it.
Sedum 'Rolling Rock'

I already love this Sedum. I got it in Jan. this year, and it is starting to actively grow now that our weather has warmed a bit.
Here it is 4/9/2013. And it looks like it is forming bloom buds.

I agree
I'm already thinking about how I can use the low growing sedum.

It is so new, only time will tell how this one will develop through the seasons in different growing conditions.
Chomping at the bit to give it a try. Hurray!

Okay, I just talked to Brent Horvath. What a very pleasant person to talk to.
Anyone interested in owning this new sedum can contact him.

Here is what he sent in an email: Brent Horvath "I will sell plants retail, qt for $10 plus shipping for those interested."
You can call him at phone 800-648-2788 ext. 15 (after message key in 15) He will either answer the phone, if not leave him a message. You can use a debit/credit card to pay. No Paypal.
This is a wholesale business, but he is willing to do this one plant as a retail sell, for us.

I just ordered mine and can't wait to get it. Should be here in a few days, maybe beginning of next week, since this is Wed.
I am so excited to get this plant.

I believe it will stay nice and compact, especially when you look at the parentage for this new sedum. It will only become more beautiful with maturity. The photos in the database are very young plants.

Wow, that is REALLY nice of Brent! I'm going to give him a call and hope he can hold off shipping for a while. Temps are dropping and expected to only be in the single digits during the days, and down to 14 below at night early next week!!!

Brrrr, that is cold in any language.

It will be fun to compare how it grows in different conditions.

Chris, did you get your S. 'Rolling Rock' from Brent?
I am loving mine already, and it is just now starting to grow. We've been so wet and cold. The color is great, and it looks like it is starting to form flower buds.

No Lynn, I never did. With the horrible winter we had I didn't think it would survive the trip here.

We had an ice storm this morning and everything is coated with 1/4"-1/2" of ice. Tree limbs are breaking off, entire trees falling over, tearing power lines down, smashing cars and windows. It's over for the moment and then we're supposed to get another one at about 3:30 this afternoon. Man, what a winter!

Good heavens Chris. You are really getting hammered with the weather this year.
I'm ashamed for complaining about our rain and cold. *Blush*
