You can grow quinoa from grocery store quinoa.
Locally we can get white, red, black and the multi colored kinds.
If you go to use the home grown then you must rinse it well to
remove the bitter coating. That coating protects it from the birds
until the winter rains wash the seed heads.
I grow it in large containers, but it makes a nice clump in the ground--- similar to ornamental grasses.
