Is it possibile to be able to add descriptions to the hosta plant entries...what the flower looks like, what the leaves look like...what makes hosta 'A' special from hosta 'B' and all other hosta. Right now there is only a choice from a misc given list of choices.

Each hosta is different, as to what it looks like. I would like to input things like the size of the leaf, distinguishing marks, etc.

I believe that's one of the specific purposes of plant comments, so all of these distinctive features could be added to the entry by posting a comment.

The databox fields are structured data that are really good for searching on those items (like Hybridizer or Flower Color and things like that). For any other structured data types that we'd like to add for Hostas, I'm happy to add them.

And then for the non-structured data information, I think Zuzu is exactly right - the comments are an excellent place for these kinds of information. That way you aren't necessarily searching on that information but you are reading it when you access that plant.
