I just got in 2 roses from John's Miniature Roses and they both have this white powdery stuff on them. I don't have my camera with me today (need to charge the battery), so I can't take a picture. If it's powdery mildew, how do I treat it? It is contagious with other plants/roses? I got in Ernie & Bees Knees, the other two are on back order all the way to June. Sad I will NEVER order from Heirloom/John's Miniatures again.

Update: I called Heirloom to see what it could be and the nice lady explained that powdery mildew doesn't wipe off easily. This wipes off easily. She then stated that they spray with some kind of .. stuff (she didn't know exactly what) to prevent blackspot/mildew from developing while in transit (that's reasonable).

Let's just see what happens. I'll try to get pictures tonight if I don't get washed away with these massive storms!!

Oh, I would have told you that, Toni, but I was asleep. John's and Eurodesert and some other places powder their roses for shipping with something like sulfur to guard against disease. I'm glad you called them.
