That's what I thought, but I've never seen a close up photo of the bloom. Pretty impressive.

That was, believe it or not, my cellphone camera. I only have an old sony ericsson c902... set on macro. poor thing is falling to pieces!! haha
I am looking to buy a fujifilm camera in the next month! :)
Also, it couldn't have been an onion, because I am sure it came off a bush same height as me

Thank you Pia and don't throw away the cell phone which is giving very good results. You can't carry a camera 24/7.
I think they were hinting at the Allium family and not exactly at onion's and garlic's. From the bloom I also get the same feeling. Take it as a hint and look up the Allium family on your countries botanical site, you may find something.
