Not sure about the many types but the few i 've had have responded well to my "lopping off the top...". Maybe that's why it seems so fun to do... Whistling Lovey dubby

Off with their heads!!
Sheryl, I'm really curious about that question, and Tarev, I think I may have inadvertently cut too much off when I've done this with Aeoniums. Also noticed that one of them is from the same source and in the same lights but has turned all green! It looks healthy, so not complaining - its also my biggest one...maybe with time I'll have lovely aeoniums like ya'll!! Lovey dubby

Ok, got this enchanting little succulent yesterday Lovey dubby , but I believe the label on it might have been wrong...It was labeled pachyveria 'Blue Pearl', but it doesn't look like any of the pictures I find online...mislabeled?? Confused

Thank you! I love it! I just recently cam into possession of a rather wonderful little kalanchoe flapjack plant. I noticed there are three main types listed in the database here, but many of the pictures look very similar between the three (at some point or another they all have green leaves with a reddish edge). Is there any way without an original label to figure out which type I have?

OKAY,I want to know what's up with home depot!!!! Crying Every time i have been to the one here there aren't any succulents that aren't half dead. The only thing worth buying as far as plants is tree's & bushes, which i will be needing in the future but my yard isn't ready for them yet. They have an ok selection of pots, even less of a selection of soil and i can't find many different fertilizers.I think we need a new store manager with better ordering skills.I have never bought a plant from Home depot and i have went many times when i go garden center hopping. Shrug! Shrug!

If i want anything i go to lowes and i shop one store for plants & another for pots, fertilizer, pea gravel etc... Whistling Shrug!
A green thumb comes only as a result of the mistakes you make while learning to see things from the plants point of view!!

Jojoe, that's funny, here where I live its exactly the opposite, home depot has good plants if I go on Tuesday afternoons, cause I think they're delivered on Tuesday mornings. But Lowes has gotten so bad, not even bulb selections anymore! Pots cracked and still labeled at full price...Oh well! Good luck! Sticking tongue out
Serse, I have one of those, I didn't realize there was more than one type?? Mine also has green with red edges!
I'll have to look in the database tomorrow

Serse, Is your reference of "came into possession of a rather wonderful ....plant..." have anything to do with Greg's method of coming into possession of from "around the neighborhood" while your hands are free? Whistling I like to say that things have "dropped into my lap..."
Hope you clear up the ID of your Flapjack... Big Grin

Jojoe, my Home Depot is the opposite as well. In fact, I was actually kind of impressed by the selection of healthy little succulents the last time I went (granted, its no SMG or Youngs, but they had a full rack). I will agree with you though on the soil selection and the slightly overpriced containers.

And my "came into the possession of" is in reference to my wonderful father who passed by a nursery when out of town this weekend and stopped in to browse their selection for me. He brought back a kalanchoe flapjack and what I believe to be a kalanchoe beharensis...Both very healthy, intriguing, and new to my collection!

Bev...I keep my hands in my pockets! And stalk folks until they're home then politely ask what it is, where they got it and does it propagate very easily! Angel And by then they often get the drift that I'm interested! (That's of course if things aren't in the alley under the fence...that's fair game - KIDDING! Only that once!) Rolling on the floor laughing I do look for chicks that fall off of the hens onto the sidewalk, again because someone else might just step on them...I know - I should place them back into the yard somewhere closeby, and most times I do! Thumbs up

Serse! Amazing plants, how nice of your dad! Thumbs up I have a flap jack, they don't need much water, and are fine in medium light! The other plant is very cool! I love how diverse Kalanchoes are! Have fun with them!
Hurray! Lovey dubby
