I'm so jealous that you have semps all around you, Greg. I wish I could do some looking around and trading in my neighborhood! Apparently where I am is a great location for sempervivums but I can't seem to find any local ones anywhere

I must say that is odd...I don't have any right near me, that's why I came up empty the other day...but I know where they are - a bike ride away, rather than an easy walk! (I walk other people dogs though and they are often along the route of my dog walks!) I would say drive to an upscale neighborhood, and begin that way, or maybe there's a "semp help line" Something like "hello, I live in ...zip code and was wondering were semps are in my area!!" Greg, thought you might enjoy some of this Aeonium info.... the two non-branching cultivars appear to be Aeonium urbicum and tabuliforme according to Palmbob. This link is to "that other place" - hope I'm not ruffling any feathers, but it is a good article when learning about these plants. Shrug!

It's true, I've seen his photos and articles in some out of the way places on the web.

Glad you enjoyed it, Greg!

Its very cool! Now I feel like I know what I own, and what I'm wanting nodding I love those large table aeoniums - and wasn't sure how well they'd do for me, after reading his article I feel like I know more how to care for them! Smiling
Thanks again! I tip my hat to you.

I haven't been feeling well & it looks like i missed out on some good conversation.I do have to admit i've had plants "come into my possession or fall into my lap".I have found if you just tell someone how much you like a plant, you've been looking for one and how easily the propagate long enough they will offer a cutting at least. Hurray!

I have a Kalanchoe 'mother of thousands'.They have grown some this winter, they don't have the awesome colors they do in the summer.I don't know a lot about them but i got them out of the bottom of a pot that had a few parent plants in it along with other plants and they were tiny little things. They are doing good but i read they get really tall so i may have them potted wrong or just have to transplant them soon.I need to find out how far apart to plant them.I don't really want a bunch of pots with the same plant in them.Hoping they can live in fairly close quarters.

OH, put me on that list of who gets that number if you find it.Couldn't help it had to say something about it Rolling on the floor laughing

A green thumb comes only as a result of the mistakes you make while learning to see things from the plants point of view!!

Hey, that's Greg's M.O. too except he's been letting people know with pink hair on his head...(he says it's no longe pink..)

Anyway, I always though MofThous drop off babies with slight movement of the plant (?) and I would think plants planted that close would result in babies falling off all the time as all 5 plants grow...I could be wrong. I think the 5 plants in that pot is too much and should be re-potted...I would have made at least 2 -3 pots with the 5 plants...Sorry for the non-advice, but I can definitely whisper into the pink-hair-covered ear about you being interested in the "number"... I have that Kalanchoe daigremontiana Jelinda. It makes its babies at the tips of each leaves, once it matures, it can easily drop off around and thus propagate itself. It hates being wet and cold but resilient enough to bounce back once warmer weather returns. It is considered very invasive in warmer areas. Mine is somewhow controlled by our cold winter rains. But this year a bit drier winter, it has managed to maintain its growth. It does grow very tall, loves full sun.

I think having 2 plants in a pot is already enough, it multiplies very fast. My container originally just have one, and now it has 4 and more coming about. Rolling my eyes.

I had this plant, and one is constantly either giving them to whoever asks about them Hurray! - or throwing them into the compost pile, but be careful, they'll grow there!! Personally I agree having several pots of the same thing gets dull...difficult choices! I'd take what you have in the pot down to 2 plants as suggested above - say a goodbye blessing to the ones you get rid of and let the other 2 grow on! Thumbs up
Now - in terms of that semp #...I'll have to check availability ('sempability') for your area and zip code and time zone and blah blah blah Rolling on the floor laughing
Jojoe, in case you didn't get what Bev was talking about...several years ago, for one summer I had pink hair! Posted a photo somewhere on Semp thread Sticking tongue out
Cheers
