Photos...bloom....yes, driving me nuts.....I'm sitting here with 3 PC's, one died...son gave me one that he had, separate tower, large screen...didn't like it...you know, 'different', then got used to it, loved the screen for pics,, etc, then Jer re-routed the cable from the router through attic space to my room, then after awhile, things went South.....mouse? He's not been well to get up there and fix/change, so am using a 'notebook' PC which is not cooperative for pics and maybe being stored in the Cloud?? This Notebook is ethernet, the large screen one is WiFi and I'm going nuts with not being able to be posting pics.....lol...'nuff said....

You know, had not gotten around to growing Ceanothus down in SoCal...this one came in the loads of plants that Bex gave me and I had no idea that they smelled like this ! Has not been affected by Wilt thus far, been in the ground for about 4-5 years now maybe.....I'm glad that you got some.....Bex said that she had 4 or so on her hillside that gets no summer water and they died...I find that surprising, didn't think that they would require any...

The last couple of years I had the huge Echium 'Mr. Happy' out in front...well, it was fun as a novelty...but the PINK was rather grating...lol..and then the towering stalk was finally blown down anyway...Remember, Dick, how we thought it looked like two different plants...with different leaf types? First set of leaves were large, second growth leaves were narrow, elongated.....Well, I have one in the back, grown from seed, maybe Mr.Happy, because the leaf growth pattern is the same, except the flowers are a nice lavender (more lavender than these pics show) and it's vigorous and started flowering earlier than I would have thought...early enough that the hummers can use it without me having to keep those dang pink camellia flowers.....hoping that it seeds a lot, think I have one coming up not far away....

I was given some Echium P.O.M. cuttings several years ago from a friend of Bex's in Pistol River....my POM's have always been purple-ish...I had no idea that these would be bright blue (brighter than pic shows)...and I don't want to lose them anyway in case they became affected by the Wilt and they look okay ...for the bright blue, right where they are, in pots...so they will stay in those pots, I think...

Wow...did yours start out with the large rounded leaves first? There's the one huge mound of blended blue and purple POM over on one of the cross streets by us...have only seen a couple at all in CC and it's even better this year, going to get a shot of it today, then I noticed yesterday....another cross street between Pacific and Pebble Beach...they've taken an empty stretch along a new fence and done some really nice plantings...yesterday I saw, shooting up behind the fence, that a very tall, must be E. pininana, maybe 'Blue Steeple'...? need to get a shot of that also...

There's a really ratty house a couple of blocks away...REALLY ratty...the only good thing is that it gets the tall blue echiums...I've always thought of them as E.pininana, but they may be something else....and they must drop seed nicely, because they just pop up around the same spot every year....no one does anything with them...

Very nice shots of cistus flowers. I tip my hat to you. Those are huge plants. I had a couple here but a snow storm did them in. They are so unique in color shape and form.
Post pics when all the buds open. Will be a treat .... Hurray!
