I added a new plant just minutes before I started trying to add this one, and it went right through...I'm stymied.

It finally went through using another tab; simply as genus, species, cultivar. I'll have to propose changes I guess in order to get it right, but at least it finally went through!

Another tip Zuzu wanted to suggest (her computer is giving her fits) to make sure the botanical name is flush left. The system won't accept it if you leave a space before the "V."

In your initial try, did you add that asterisk in the front for trade name and series?

No, I didn't add an asterisk but there very well may have been a space before the genus/species area.
