Oh, that's right! I sent you some morning glory and poppy seeds! And I remember it took a long time for the seeds to get to you, much longer than it took for yours to get to me. I think it was over a week, which was really surprising. I think our mail takes a very strange route; goes from our local post office to Spokane, and from Spokane to Portland or Seattle, and Lord knows where it goes from there. Probably Florida! Hilarious!

Ok, I'll T-mail you my address again. Thanks! Smiling I have often admired the pictures of those hibiscus, but never thought they might grow here!

Woofie--have your hardy hibiscus seeds in an envelope for you, will mail them this afternoon when we pick up our son from school..

If you still have any of the two types of "painted tongue" you have listed would love to try them.

Thanks again Shirley

I will take a look; if I have some (and I'm pretty sure I at least have some Chocolate Royale), I'll get them out to you. But it probably won't be until Monday. Our post office keeps weird hours. Rolling my eyes. I think I still have your address. Smiling

Shirley, I do indeed have some of the Chocolate Royale salpiglossis seeds and have some set aside for you. I also have some mixed ones, not sure how old they are or how well the seeds keep, but I'll send some along. And I do still have your address, so I'll send them off tomorrow!

I have several packs of hardy hibiscus left if anybody needs them. I started mine using the winter sowing method. I have a few Lady Baltimore hibiscus, too.

Those are so pretty! How tall do they get? Are they perennial for you as well, Don?

The hibiscus mix is four to five feet and the Lady Baltimore maybe six inches taller. They are perennial.

Oh, glad you spotted that article, Joanne! I don't remember seeing it and there is quite a bit of good information there. And I did not know that I might be able to grow Rose of Sharon here. I used to drool over the one in my neighbor's yard when I was a child, but that was in SoCal.
