Aphids are drawn to prolific leaf growth and may attack herbs such as basil.

Seeing the ants marching up the plants is often my clue that aphids are there! But I've never been sure which came first, the aphids or the ants! Rolling on the floor laughing

And good spray of soap and water really works to get rid of them.

Thumbs up

I've not had aphids attack my basil, bit they sure like the dill. I attended a little hobby greenhouse seminar the other day and one lady said she puts vaseline on a bright lime colour poster paper. A lot of bugs, like aphids are attracted to the colour and get stuck on the paper. I guess it's similar to those little yellow sticky bug traps papers. Making your own would be cheaper for sure

Nice avatar including some of your wildflowers, Christine. nodding

Those sticky traps do work well. I've never tried making my own.
I garden for the pollinators.

Thanks, Tee. The wildflowers will always have a special place in my heart, even though they aren't growing so close to the house anymore. Sad

Joanne, I like the idea of make-your-own sticky traps. I'm going to try it. Thumbs up
