Next to Tequila is Midnight Blue. I tried to alter the picture to get a close-to-true-color as I could.

Down the way from Midnight Blue along side the driveway is Paradise. She's struggling. Her foliage is beautiful, her buds are to be desired.

Across the way from Paradise is my Stainless Steel. She's been holding that perfect bud now for almost a week!

Up a little ways closer to the house is California Dreamin'. And I so dream of California, especially when I see everyone's gorgeous parades.

Getting closer to my neighbor's fenceline is where my original roses (Oranges & Lemons, JFK, Mardi Gras) are at. Here's Mardi Gras.

I had to cut this poor bush back almost to the ground. Last year at this time, she was almost 4' tall. Today, she's at about 16". This is Mardi Gras again.

When I bought this house in '05, there were these MASSIVE bushes in the front yard right in front of the windows. Manhattan Euonymus. Considering that 1) their flowers attract flies as they smell vaguely of dead meat when they flower, 2) grow to the point they block the windows 100% from the inside, & 3) grow to the point that they block the windows 100% from the outside, making it a safety hazard, I ripped 'em out. Was actually pretty easy to do.. they had shallow rootballs. So, what I'm going to do on the side (overhanging porch) is put up a trellis as I have 3 climbers there from RU. One I put in last year and it's grown SO well, all things considered.

I went & bought Chris Evert. I won't be planting her until this Sunday when I get that aspen ripped out of the front yard, but she's happy to be blooming in her pot. And she was on sale locally! Got her for $16.50

Now in the back yard, I have only 1 rose blooming as of right now. Well, technically, I have 4 (out of about 150) blooming, but Summer Sunshine, Blueberry Hill, and Ambassador have only spent roses, so they're not pretty to look at.

I bought this rose last year based only on it's tag. I never saw it bloom so I just went by it's tag. I have NO idea who/what it is. I'm thinking that it's a shrub rose as it's not leggy at all. Have small "fuzz" rather than thorns so it's not too spikey. I didn't bend down to get a sniff this morning.. I'll see this afternoon when I get home from work what it smells like. But I think I may keep it.. it's not an "ugly" rose.

Now just some pathetic little plants. Here's Musicale, lone survivor (of 2) I got from the Chamblee's. At least she survived. No buds yet.

Fisherman's Friend. I can't wait to see this one bloom. I tried it before from Heirloom w/no success (pathetic teeny twig). This is from Pickering.

Was really worried about this one. Dog ran into it and knocked off all it's leaves last week. This past weekend of nothing but rain really helped.

Last pic of today of the roses.. City of London. This one took it's sweet time getting some leaves going. You'll have to excuse the weeds, I weed every other day and they seem to sprout that fast. :(

From now on, when you buy those minis at Walmart or some other big box store, you can find the name stamped on the side of the pot. It's usually on an inner pot, inside the better-looking one the rose is sold in. As for the ones you already have, you can look for them on the Poulsen site and try to ID them there. All of the minis sold at the big box stores and in grocery chain stores come from Poulsen. Most of them are in the Poulsen Parade series. With any luck, this link should take you to the Parade page. All of the minis from walmart or HD are part of the Parade series. I did look them up last year, but forgot to tag 'em. And I have to get different tags as the ones I used didn't work too well being buried. They're the pressure type tags and being squashed between from ground & mulch really did a number on the aluminium. So I need to get those really nice tags that are more like nameplates.

Also, I could be wrong with the Tequila.. it could be Sunrise or Sunset.. I can't remember and the original tag is destroyed. So I just call it Tequila (which is probably wrong as there's probably a Tequila, too)

This picture was actually taken yesterday (6/16) w/my phone. But, this is what happened to my poor Midnight Blue. it got fried!!!! Everything is suffering from the heat, but this is ridiculous!!
