What is this cactus?

those little yellow flowers! Sorry do not know either...but it is a beauty!

With all those flowers, it may be a Euphorbia. If it is, watch for little leaves at the top growth. Which one I can't say.

I thought the same thing, but then when I looked at the close-up it doesn't seem to be a typical Euphorbia flower.

Good to hear. I have been told many names like Cereus peruvianus Montrose, and Cereus fernambucensis f. cristate and have see some for sale on the internet same as mine with those names with it. So who knows. It is different.

I gave away all the crinum seeds I had. I know they get too large to keep in zone 6 and would be ok in a zone 8, so I hope they turn out ok. I have a white one growing in my yard all year. It was too large to winter over so 5 or 6 years ago I planted it out side. It bloomed only once but it was beautiful. Large like a amaryllis only with so many more buds. It is serious overcrowded now and needs transplanted. I can give you a piece of this if you want it? Sorry I didn't take any pictures when it was in bloom.

I was going to guess C. peruvianus but, as you say, who knows for sure until it blooms. I like it! I had to prop it a bit since it was so top heavy so that's why it's down in the pot like that. Now that it is well-rooted, I can move it to higher ground come Spring.

Crinums do very well here as long as they are ones that are not too sensitive to cold. I have a number of them. I only have one that I think is a pure white one so I would very much like to try yours. Would need to wait about six weeks to mail it though. The groundhog says winter will be over by then.

Right now I am in despair, I lost some of my plants due to our house is too cold. We keep it around 65 but by the windows it may be down to 60 or so. I am into sansevieria (snake plants) some go as high as $60 a root. These are very fussy to the cold. I am rethinking my collection. The agave Hetty gave me is doing wonderful and is my favorite right now. It is colorful and doesn't get too big. I am going to keep what survives and forget about the rest.
I will put you on my list this spring for a bulb of my white crinum lily. By the way, the one I gave you is white but I don't think the flower gets very large.

Oh dear. I know how much you love the Sans. I have adopted the same philosophy since moving to TN. So far this winter, I have lost my two large Aloe vera plants because they were too big to move inside (no room) and froze. Well, easy to start over with a small one and they grow very quickly so I'll probably do that. Anything else that doesn't make it, que sera, sera.

Well, maybe your crinum is the white one I was thinking of. Dear me, help my little pea brain.

I do believe the one I got is a nicer cult. It was purchased years ago as a red but it takes years to bloom and by the time it finally bloomed, it was white and maybe 10 years latter. The red one was zoned 8 so maybe I was lucky after all.

Tee, that's the one I sent you. The one I'm talking about is the old clump in my yard. I think I purchased it from Ty Ty nursery in Georgia.
