OK, should have much more color from flowers this month, although I thought we did well coming up with other ways color works in gardens over winter. Here is a misnamed heath, Erica carnea 'December Red'. This is a photo in full bloom last year (on a sunny day which I have not seen in quite some time now). It is just now opening up, about 1/3 of the bush is showing color. Just checked my witchhazel, still not quite opened, but getting closer.
And here's the ever-popular sarcococa which my nose cannot even discern the tiniest fragrance from. Weird, as I know from others that it actually has a very pervading scent.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.
My local Haggen has plants! Such a treat to just toss one in when grocery shopping - and I probably go every 3-4 days. So far, I've added a couple heathers - grasses and groundcovers on the horizon.
