On Thursday,we buried my Grandmother,of 84 years of age..Being incapacitated enough to stop her attending to her garden and liliums, for the last 2 years angered her. Finally a fall in the hallway took a toll on her body and 3 months later, the ravages of life, took their victim...Nan had cared for me, since I was 4 years old, until I left at 20 yrs...My relatives knew I grew lilies and asked If I had a bunch to place on the coffin. I could do better than that!!!!!.Only the best liliums I could pick in my yard, would be good enough for 'MY' Grandmother.. A trip to Rod Barwick at Glenbrook Bulb Farm[Rod is a 'legend in his own lunchbox' at floral arrangement].....Here is the result......
I'm sorry to hear that Anthony. Falls are so dangerous to those up in age. It's heartbreaking when an avid gardener like Nan is no longer able to do what they love most. And your lily arrangement was most appropiate.
Not many things could make her more happy than those lilies coming from you, Anthony.
That even your relatives recognized this, is very heartening, too.
Sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry about your loss Anthony, but from a grandma's point of view you couldn't have given any greater gift while she was still here than to know that you loved what she loved and that you were carrying on her legacy. The beautiful lilies in the arrangement gives testament to that legacy. Sue
My sympathies to you and your family. Your lilies are a beautiful tribute to your grandmother, and you continue to be her living legacy, growing the beautiful lilies that you do. Annette
So sorry for your loss, Anthony. Nan was obviously very much loved by her little boy, and I guarantee she took much pride in your following in her lily footsteps. God bless.
Maybe you could register and name one after her? And what other flowers was she fond of?
So sorry for the loss of such an important person in your life. Your wonderful tribute to her should find you comfort because there is nothing she would've liked better.
