I never seem to have a block of free time long enough to post a long thread of photos, but now I've amassed more than a hundred for March and April, so I'll start posting them in installments.

This is Abraham Darby, an Austin shrub.

Audrey Hepburn is a hybrid tea. As you might be able to see in this photo, this poor rose has rose mosaic virus and chronic black spot, but in spite of those afflictions and in spite of the fact that I bought it from Michigan Bulb, it has been blooming happily for almost 20 years in my garden.

Baby Talk, a floribunda, is one of the first roses I bought when I moved here in 1984. There was a whole line of "Talk" roses, but the best ones, in my opinion, were Baby Talk and Pillow Talk.

The Banksias are great big monsters. Here's a photo of one of them from a distance. Not a great picture, but it gives you an idea of the size. It's draped across four arbors.

Here's a long shot of another one. It's covering a gazebo, and I've only included the neighbor's ugly tree so you can see how the Banksia is climbing way up into the tree. I'm hoping it will completely obscure the tree in another year or two.

Here's a closeup of the tiny blooms. Each of these adorable clusters is only about the size of a ping pong ball.

Big Splash is one of the prettiest climbers I've ever grown. It has huge blooms. Unfortunately, the crazy rose hates the sun. After a couple of hours of sunshine, the blooms turn brown and icky. The first flush usually happens in the rainy season, luckily, when there's not enough sun to ruin the blooms. Here's the bud.

Here's a side view of the open blooms. If they had bloomed a few weeks later, the centers would be scorched and brown.

I keep meaning to move it into the shade...
